Throughout the years since its inception in 1983, Redwood Entertainment, Inc.’s music and acting departments have been known for their comprehensive management, artist representation, and record label marketing services. The company’s management and marketing projects have included Fahir Atakoglu, internationally renowned symphonic composer and conductor who as band leader, composer/pianist has released three Jazz/World Music CDs in the United States that have made it to #1 on the JazzWeek Charts; Painted on Water, featuring Eurovision winners Sertab Erener and Demir Demirkan, which is a fusion of World Music with Jazz and Pop influences; Sezen Aksu, Turkey’s “First Lady of Song”; Grammy winner Ken Williams, an original writer of Alicia Keys’ Grammy winning hit “You Don’t Know My Name”; Kenny Seymour, musical director of Broadway’s Tony Award winning Memphis; the legendary Jazz and session guitarist John Tropea; David Bennett Cohen, original keyboard player with Country Joe and the Fish; World Music/R&B/Hip-Hop/Reggae fusion band, Derrick N. Ashong & Soulfège led by Emmy nominated Derrick Ashong for his hosting of Al Jazeera English’s The Stream; producer/singer/songwriter/guitarist Stephen McConnaughey; composer, producer and guitarist Larry Baeder; Fremont John, AC singer/songwriter; internationally renowned Spanish/Canadian singer/songwriter Luthea Salom; Spanish-Argentinean blues/rock artist Demian Dominguez; New York’s own New Orleans second line Jambalaya Brass Band; rockers GIBlythe, featuring Geoffrey Blythe of Black 47 and formally of the U.K.’s Dexy’s Midnight Runners; and many others.
Redwood’s acting and comedy roster includes many prominent actors and comedians including Andrea Mezvinsky (voted ‘America’s Funniest Mom’ on The Oprah Winfrey Show); comic Michele Balan, NBC’s Last Woman Comic Standing and Nancy Lombardo (Saturday Night Live, Orange is the New Black) and many others. Other artists Redwood has worked with include Jazz singer Kevin Mahogany; Eden Riegel (Emmy Award winning actress who portrayed “Bianca,” daughter of Susan Lucci, on the award winning soap All My Children); Annie Haslam (former lead singer of Renaissance); singer/songwriter Neshama Carlebach; R&B legend Chuck Jackson; Early Clover of the Coasters; and independent record labels Motema Music, and Young Pals Music, to name but a few.
